6 ounces butter
3 1/2 ounces baking chocolate
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour, sift before measuring
1 cup coarsely broken pecans
Melt the chocolate and butter in top of double boiler. Cool. Beat the eggs lightly. Add the sugar to the eggs. Mix together. Add the salt and vanilla. Beat together lightly. Add the chocolate and butter mixture. Mix the pecans with the sifted flour and add to the liquid mixture. Fold together only enough to mix well. Bake in a lightly greased 8 x 11 pan at 325 degrees for 50 minutes. Cut into squares while warm.
