Yummy Lemon Bars

1 cup butter, softened
Dash salt
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
4 eggs, beaten
6 tablespoons lemon juice
Powdered sugar


Preheat oven to 350 degrees f (175c). In a medium-size bowl, combine butter, salt, 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 2 cups of flour; mix well. Press firmly into a 13" x 9" ungreased baking pan. Bake in preheated oven 15 to 20 minutes or until light golden brown; cool. In a medium-size bowl, combine remaining 1/4 cup of flour and granulated sugar. Stir in eggs and lemon juice. Pour onto partially-baked crust. Bake 25 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted into center comes out clean. Edges will brown before center is set. Cool; sift powdered sugar over top. Cut in bars.
