Deep Coconut Pound Cake

2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
5 eggs
1 package flaked coconut
1 cup milk
2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon coconut flavoring
1 teaspoon butter flavoring
1 teaspoon almond flavoring

Topping:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon coconut flavoring


Cream sugar and shortening. Add an egg at a time. Add coconut and milk. Add flour sifted with baking powder and salt. Add flavorings; mix well. Pour into well-greased and floured tube cake pan or bundt pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.


Topping: Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring to boil; add flavoring. Drizzle on warm cake with a pastry brush.
