Cake with Cream Cheese Filling

1/2 cup oleo
2 cup sugar
4 squares baking chocolate, melted
2 eggs
2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon.
Baking powder
1 1/2 cup milk
2 cup nuts, optional
Mix first two ingredients.
Add next two and beat.
Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes in 9 x i3 pan.

Optional cream cheese filling:
8 ounce cream cheese, beaten
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Whip cream cheese, add other ingredients and beat until smooth. Spread 1/2 of batter in pan, spread with filling, spread rest of batter over top. Will take 45 min. To bake. Choose a frosting good with either. Chocolate frosting soft beat 3c powdered sugar and 4t hot water and beat. Add 4 ounce baking chocolate, melted and beat. Add 1 stick soft butter and 2 teaspoons vanilla and beat until smooth. Chocolate frosting hard bring to boil 1/4c milk, 1/4c butter, 1 square baking chocolate. Add 2 1/2c sugar and 1 teaspoon. Vanilla and beat until smooth.
