1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
4 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
In double boiler over simmering water, or in heavy saucepan over very low heat, melt 1 cup of the chocolate chips. Let cool. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Blend in melted chocolate. Combine flour, salt, and baking powder and add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in walnuts and remaining 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Drop teaspoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees f for 8 to 10 minutes.
