3 cups sugar
1 cup water
1 cup white corn syrup
1 tablespoon flavoring extract
Food coloring
Glaze:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon or 2 milk
Combine sugar water and syrup into heavy saucepan. Set candy thermometer in pan. Stir constantly. When the thermometer reaches 300 degrees (hard cracked), add in the flavoring and food coloring (only a few drops). Stir in and immediately pour into buttered 9 by 12 inch pan (depending on how thick you want the candy). Let stand. Make sure mixture is completely harden before the next step. Pick up pan about waist level(you may want to do this outside) drop the pan on the floor. Candy should break into several pieces looking like stained glass. Mix 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1/4 teaspoons vanilla and 1 to 2 teaspoons milk until smooth.
