3 cups sugar
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 stick butter or oleo
1 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup white karo
3 cups pecans
Cook sugar, milk, soda and karo together until it forms soft ball on candy thermometer. Remove from heat, add butter, vanilla and pecans. Beat until it begins to pop (just before it starts turning to sugar). Drop by spoonful on waxed paper.
