Deep Dark Chocolate Cake

You can never have too many chocolate cake recipes! lol!


2 cups sugar
1 3/4 cups flour
3/4 cup cocoa
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup boiling water
===chocolate buttercream frosting===
6 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup cocoa
2 2/3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Cake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Grease and flour two round pans or one rectangular pan. In a large mixing bowl, mix all dry ingredients. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat at medium speed for two minutes. Stir in water. (batter will be thin). Pour into pan(s). Bake 30-40 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean. Cool on racks for 10 minutes; remove from pan(s) and cool completely. Do not remove cake if it is in a rectangular pan. Frosting: Cream butter in a small mixing bowl. Add sugar alternately with milk and cocoa. Blend in vanilla. Frost cooled cake.
