3/4 cups shortening
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 egg
2 cups sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon soda
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup whole pecans
Cream shortening. Add sugar; blend well. Thoroughly blend in egg. Sift flour with salt and soda three times; add to shortening mixture. Mix in chopped nuts. Shape into rolls; refrigerate until ready to bake. Slice into thin wafers; top with whole pecans. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 10 minutes.
