Extreme Caramels

2 cups white sugar
1 3/4 cups white corn syrup
1/2 pounds butter
Dash salt

Boil until it forms a firm ball in cold water. Stir constantly while it is cooking. Add one tall can evaporated milk and continue cooking until very thick. Walnuts may be added. Pour into 8x8 inch glass baking dish. When cool, cut into squares and wrap in waxed paper.
