3 ounces sugar
4 ounces butter
2 eggs
10 ounces flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cream sugar and butter, then beat in other ingredients. Chill dough three or four hours before rolling, for best results. Bake in 375 degrees oven for 7-12 minutes or until just golden. These can be glazed with a mixture of icing and a little milk and decorated as desired. This dough can be cut out into seasonal shapes - bells, christmas stars, trees, easter eggs, etc. If possible, use a pastry cloth and flour the rolling pin before rolling out.
