Mocha Buttercream Frosting

1 1/2 cups butter or margarine, softened
4 cups sifted powdered sugar
2 tablespoons instant coffee powder
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract


Cream butter at medium speed of an electric mixer; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Dissolve instant coffee powder in milk; add to butter and sugar mixture; beat until spreading consistency. Stir in vanilla.
