German Crisps

2 cups brown sugar
1 cup spry or margarine
2 eggs
1 teaspoon soda
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts


Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Beat well. Add soda and salt to flour. Add vanilla to creamed ingredients, then flour mixture and nuts. Form into long rolls. Place in refrigerator overnight. Slice thin and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until light brown. Keep long time or freeze.
