3/4 cup plus 1 TBSP all purpose flour
1/3 cup firmly packed dark bron sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
6 TBSP butter, softened
1/3 cup sliced almonds
6 ripe pears (Bose or Anjou), peeled, cored and cut into 1/2" wedges
1 tsp vanilla extract
pinch of salt
Preheat oven to 375ยบ
In medium bowl, combine 3/4 cup flour, brown sugar, 1/4 cup granulated sugar. With pastry blender or two knives, cut in the butter until mixture is size of fine crumbs; stir in almonds.
In 1-1/2 quart, shallow baking pan or casserole, combine the pears, remaining 1/4 cup sugar, remaining 1 TBSP flour, vanilla and salt.
Sprinkle crumbs evenly over pears.
Bake 45 minutes or until pears are tender and topping is golden.
